Cake was a volunteer poster project created to promote a short film by Joey Schweitzer in collaboration with ReelWorks Studios in Charlotte, NC. The film followed a high school track athlete silently battling an eating disorder—symbolized through a birthday cake he refuses to eat. The poster focused on that cake as the central image: its extinguished candle reflected the life-threatening nature of the disorder, while the solitary plate conveyed the boy’s deep sense of isolation and internal struggle.
